Alkyl-substituted N-benzopyranyl lactams, processes for their preparation, their use and pharmaceutical preparations based on these compounds

N-benzopyranyl lactams of the formula I <IMAGE> where R<1> is CN, NO2, SOn-Ar, (n = 1 or 2); R<2> is H, OH, alkoxy, alkyl, halogen or NR<5>R<6> (R<5> and R<6> are H, alkyl or alkylcarbonyl); R<3> and R<4> are alkyl; where the abovementioned meanings of R<1> and R<2> can also be exchanged; X is a chain (CH2)m which is substituted by alkyl and can be interrupted by O, NR<7> or S (R<7> is H or alkyl) are described in which the configuration on C3 and C4 is always opposite. Preparation processes are likewise given. Compounds I are used for the treatment of high blood pressure.
