PURPOSE:To reduce errors at a stop position of a recording paper, by providing a means for feeding a part to be printed of the recording paper in a supplying direction before printing and then feeding the paper in the reverse direction by an amount substantially equal to the amount by which the paper is fed in the supplying direction. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 4 is provided with feed holes at both side ends thereof, and it is discriminated whether printing to be conducted is printed in the first color based on a printing-starting signal. When printing to be conducted is printed in the first color, the paper 4 is fed by a predetermined size. Next, the paper 4 is fed in the reverse direction, whereby the paper is rewound to an initial position, and is positioned to a predetermined position, followed by printing in the first color. Thereafter, it is discriminated whether printing in three colors is completed, and when the printing is not completed, the paper 4 is rewound to the initial position, and printing in the second color and printing in the third color are performed by the same step as above. The sag of the paper 4 at the part of a platen 10 when the paper is fed by a pin tractor 3 is substantially constant, and the detection accuracy in detecting a positioning mark on the paper by an optical detector 5 is substantially constant. |
