PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer recording sheet capable of obtaining favorable image reproducibility, by providing a cushion layer between a receiving layer and a base, and providing a sheet-shaped material for separation of the two layers between the two layers. CONSTITUTION:A cushion layer provided on the surface of a base is a soft layer, preferably having a 100% modulus of not more than 250kg/cm<2>. The cushion layer may be a layer composed of a polyurethane resin, a polyester resin or the like, and the thickness of the layer is preferably selected, as required, from the range of about 1-200mum. Between the cushion layer and the receiving layer is provided a sheet-shaped material for separation of the two layers. The sheet-shaped material may be formed from polyethylene terephthalate, stretched polypropylene or the like, and a paper such as a condenser paper may also be used. The thickness of the sheet-shaped material is preferably about 2-60mum. With the cushion layer and the sheet-shaped material thus provided, transferred images will not have roughness or ununiformity of density, and extremely clear images with high density can be obtained. |
