发明名称 MASS SPECTROMETRIC DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To secure a large space for an impingement room and to obtain conditions for a single mass spectrometer and those for MIKES (Mass-analyzed in Kinetic Energy Spectrometry) by means of easy changeover, by shifting a focusing point between a deflection magnetic field and a Q3 lens. CONSTITUTION:When this device is used as a single double focusing mass spectrometric device, voltages of Q1 and Q2 lenses are set up so that a focusing point is formed near the middle part between a Q3 lens and an electric field, or inside the electric field. In order to perform MIKES, the voltages of the Q1 and Q2 lenses are regulated so that the focusing point is shifted to come between a deflection magnetic field and the Q3 lens. At this focusing point, a detection slit 20 is disposed to perform mass spectrometry only by the magnetic field. On the other hand, an impingement room 21 is disposed to generate daughter ions in a space which is formed between the slit 20 and the Q3 lens by shifting the focusing point. A voltage for focusing the ions in the direction of an orbit is applied to the Q3 lens which serves to refocus the daughter ions emitted from the impingement room 21. Energy spectra of the daughter ions, that is, mass spectra of them can be obtained by thus sweeping the electric field.
