发明名称 INK FILM FOR ELECTROTHERMAL TRANSFER
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an ink film for electrothermal transfer suitable for full-color printing with favorable bit reproducibility and intermediate tone reproducibility, by providing a releasable layer between an ink layer and a base layer, and setting the critical surface tension of a release agent used for the releasable layer to be not higher than those of the ink layer and the base layer. CONSTITUTION:An ink film for electrothermal transfer comprises an acrylic resin-based releasable layer 13 interposed between a base layer 12 and a wax- based ink layer 14. The releasable layer 13 is prepared by using an acrylic resin having a critical surface tension lower than those of a wax-based ink and a base layer material used for the ink film. The base layer 12 is constituted by a resin film having heat resistance, mechanical strength and high smoothness, such as a film of a polyimide, polyethylene terephthalate or the like, and the thickness of the layer 12 is preferably 1-15mum. A binder used for the ink layer 14 is paraffin wax, microcrystalline wax or the like. A synthetic resin component incorporated in the ink layer 14 is a thermoplastic organic material such as an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or a mixture thereof. A resistor layer 11 is provided on the base layer 12 on the side opposite to the ink layer 14.
