METHOD OF CONTROLLED BURNING OF A PILE OF SOLID FUEL PARTICULARLY OF WOOD PILED UP IN A VERTICAL FIRE STACK OF A STOVE AS WELL AS STOVE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

The system gives controlled burning from the top of solid fuel, partic. wood, stacked in a furnace (10) shaft (11). The stack is ignited at the top and then burned away in the downwards direction by the supply of combustion air. The latter is delivered in the horizontal direction from the side to a limited area closely above the incandescent bed formed after ignition. As the combustion continues, air is delivered to the area clearly above the incandescent bed, as this moves downwards, during the entire combustion process. The air supply is pref. supported by pressure or suction.
