A device for opening a metal con along two weakening grooves (4) provided on the circumference of the can wall (1), having a tongue (6) welded onto the can wall between the weakening grooves, which tongue is welded onto the can wall in such a manner that the weld nugget (5) resulting from the welding overlaps the weakening grooves at both sides and ends in a point in the central region at the side adjacent to the unwelded end of the tongue, characterised in that the weld nugget (5) comprising a point (7) is composed of a plurality of interlinked welding spots, the welding spots being appropriately placed or being able to be produced by the surface structure of the tongue (6). |
