PURPOSE:To suppress mechanical deflecting motion of a slider of a picture input device and holding the sliding orbit of the slider efficiently by using a magnetic circuit device so as to suppress the mechanical deflecting motion of the slider having an optical system and to hold the position of the slide orbit of the slider. CONSTITUTION:Reading a picture, a drive pulse signal from an electronic circuit board 14 is received by a stepping motor 12, a sensor stationary case 5 is slided along guide rails 7, 8 to read and input the picture. In this case, the optical system of the picture input device having the case 5 is susceptible to mechanical deflecting motion by its inertia energy but the magnetic attracting force cased between the guide rail 8 made of a soft magnetic substance and the roller 9 made of a permanent magnet makes the optical system of the sensor case fitted with the roller 9 immune to the mechanical deflecting motion. Moreover, the magnetic circuit device has a suppressing action as to the sensor stationary case 5 from its out of sliding track state.
