<p>The high performance exhaust system for an internal combustion engine improves the power output at all running conditions of the engine, in particular the performance of the engine at low and mid-range running. Reflective means (17) are positioned contiguous to the end of exhaust pipes (14) for providing a variable reflection area upstream an exhaust gas expansion chamber (16) in order to reduce the exhaust gas pressure at the engine exhaust port. Means (26, 27) adjust the reflective means (17) effective area in response to engine condition.</p> |
