Plants are subjected to periods of light and darkness tuned to their photosynthesis reaction times. The plants are grown in tiers on different levels radiating from a central area 1 of a climatically controlled tower. Growing benches 2 are arranged at the ends (f-f'') of light chambers housing beam splitters (a-f'') for directing light onto the benches. Light beam 4 is deflected by reflective surfaces 1a, 1b fixed to a rotary shaft at the tower axis whereby light beams are directed in sequence into the light chambers and onto the benches. The surfaces 1a, 1b, may be replaced by hexagonal or dodecagonal reflectors. <IMAGE> |
