PURPOSE:To simply constitute a variable nozzle mechanism without needing the actuating mechanism of a starter, by a method wherein a movable plate is disposed on the outer periphery of a turbine impeller, and a plurality of stators, formed by a flexible sheet, are located between the movable plate and a housing. CONSTITUTION:An annular movable plate 6 is disposed on the outer periphery of a turbine impeller 1. In this case, in the movable plate 6, a gas inflow passage 8, through which to introduce working gas from a turbine scroll 4 to a gas inflow port 7 of the turbine impeller 1, is formed between one surface 6a of the movable plate and the inner surface of a housing 3, and a movable space 9 is formed in the other surface side 6b. A plurality of stators 10, formed by a flexible sheet, are positioned at equal intervals between the movable plate 6 and the housing 3 in a given relation with the turbine impeller 1. This constitution, when a turbine flow rate is changed, causes slide of the movable plate 6 as a bending amount of a stator 10 is regulated, and causes regulation of the flow passage area of a nozzle 11.
