PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of a cast article after casting and heat treatment and to improve fatigue strength by detecting temp. at each part of the cast article by inserting temp. sensors in a metallic mold, opening the metallic mold at the time, when the detected temp. of any temp. sensor is reached to the setting value with more than A1 transformation point and charging it in a soaking furnace. CONSTITUTION:Total eight molds of the vertical slit metallic mold units 2 are arranged on a round shape metallic mold table 1 and in metallic molds 2a, 2b of each metallic mold unit 2, many temp. sensors 9 detecting the temp. at each part of the cast article, are inserted. A control unit 8 always observes the temps. of the cast article in each metallic mold unit 2 on a mold opening stage through the temp. sensor. At the time, when the temp. at any part of each cast article falls to the setting temp. more than A1 transformation point, the control unit 8 commands to a hydraulic pressure system in a mold clamping/ opening device 3, to execute the mold-opening, and also sends the command to a transportation robot 6, to transport and change the cast article after mold- opening to the soaking furnace 5.
