PURPOSE:To improve the image editing function of a copying machine by specifying a required area of an original, painting out an image in the specified area with a specific color, selecting a masking mode, and at the time of selecting masking, turning off an exposing means. CONSTITUTION:An original on an original platen is illuminated by an illumination lamp 1 fixed on an original scanning mechanism and its reflected light is projected on a photosensitive body 9 through mirrors 2-4, a projection lens 5, mirrors 6-8, and so on. The rotating photosensitive body 9 is uniformly electrostatically charged by a primary charger 10 to form a latent image of the original by the projection light. A part of the latent image is erased by an eraser 11, the residual latent image is developed as a toner image by 1st or 2nd developing device 12 or 13 and the developed image is transferred to transfer paper by a transferring/separating charger 14 and separated. Toner left on the surface of the photosensitive body 9 is removed by a cleaner 15, the potential of the photosensitive body 9 is destaticized by a preexposing lamp 16 and then the succeeding cycle is repeated again. |
