PURPOSE:To attain the effective utilization of a main storage device and to make data transmission efficient by returning a memory used already as an idle area, acquiring a memory area from the main storage device and expanding it only at the time of deficient memory area. CONSTITUTION:The memory is managed (103) at the time of communication processing in an information processor 100 applying data communication with a communication processor 120 via a communication line 110. A memory area having capacity in matching with average traffic is acquired from the main storage device 106 by an acquisition means 21 before data communication starts in the processor 100 and it is registered on a management table 28. Then the presence of an idle memory area having required capacity is decided (24) and when the area exists, an idle memory area having required capacity for present data transmission/reception is used for the communication processing and in case of absence, an expanding means 26 acquires a new memory area from the device 106 to guarantee the acquisition of the memory area by the means 27. After the completion of data transmission/reception, an addition means 25 updates the table 28 to increase the idle memory area.
