<p>The invention relates to an electrical cable equipped with a connecting device (20) which comprises a sleeve (21) defining a housing and having an electrically insulating intermediate layer (24) radially interposed between two layers, respectively inner (23) and outer (25) layers, the electrical characteristics of which control the electric field, the said housing being axially delimited by the inner layer (23) and then by the intermediate (24) and outer (25) layers which are flush, the end of the cable (1) extending into the housing. The cable comprises an insulating tube (43) mounted tightly into the housing so as to be in contact with the intermediate layer (24) and a space provided around the periphery of the cable in the housing is filled with an insulating material (48).
