A window/door assembly 1, 2 has a multi-point locking system (8, 12, 15, 19, 22, K) with a fully retractable projecting bolting element 19. This bolting element 19 has a nose 21 of greater dimension than its body and this nose engages behind lips X on keeper K in the locked position of said locking system. The bolt 19 is movable into and out of locked positions with the associated keeper K by linear movement of movable element 22 along the edge of the sash 2 and consequently linear movement of housing component 15 relative to facing strip 8. Sides of the slot 16 act on pins 20 and as the pins 20 are forced to move along the slot the bolt pivots into and out of engagement with associated keeper K. <IMAGE> |
