PURPOSE:To stabilize transfer and stripping operations by controlling either or both of the high voltages to be impressed to a transfer corotron and stripping corotron according to environmental humidity. CONSTITUTION:A humidity sensor 9 is disposed near the peripheral face of a photosensitive body 1. The detected humidity signal of the sensor 9 is supplied to a control circuit 11 after A/D conversion 10. The control circuit 11 controls the high voltages to be impressed from a power supply 12 to the transfer corotron 5 and the stripping corotron 6 to optimum values according to the detected humidity. As a result, the transfer and stripping operations are stably executed without being affected by the humidity.
