PURPOSE:To produce a tapered raw material by drawing-up continuous casting method without using a mold by forcedly cooling by injection water at the position near molten metal surface, sealing by gas at the lower part thereof and controlling the drawing velocity and molten metal temp. etc., so as not to drip the water on the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A cooling box 2 is arranged at the upper part position near the surface of the molten metal 10 and the water is injected to a strand 1 drawn up as holding guide rolls 5 from water injecting nozzles 4 to forcedly cool the strand 1. In order to prevent the injected water from dripping on the molten metal 10, gas injecting nozzles 6 are arranged below the water injecting nozzles 4 and gas seal is made and the water dripped to a water basin 8 is taken out from an introducing pipe 7 for drainage. In this case, the diameter of the strand 1, crystal structure and the productivity are controlled by the drawing up velocity of the strand 1, temp. of the molten metal 10 and intensity of the forcedly cooling, and the raw shaped material having tapered or no tapered can be easily produced. |
