PURPOSE:To eliminate disturbance and distortion of a gradient curve and to eliminate a solvent front peak as well by installing an inlet slit of a polychrometer to the incident face side of a flow cell and providing an incident face of a planoconvex lens to the flow cell. CONSTITUTION:The inlet slit 14 of the polychrometer is installed on the incident face side of the flow cell 2a. Then, even if the refractive index of a soln. flowing in the flow cell 2a changes and if the optical axis changes, there is no influence at all on the quantity of the light passing the split 14 installed in front of the incident face of the cell 2a. The entire incident light on the cell 2a past the slit 14 is entered to a photodetector 10 by the means provided to the cell 2a, i.e., the planoconvex lens 22.
