PURPOSE:To improve the output efficiency of an engine by a structure wherein a fuel gas compressor is actuated by means of a turbine driven by the heat energy of a waste gas boiler, which is arranged in the exhaust system of a diesel engine utilizing gaseous fuel. CONSTITUTION:Steam is generated by utilizing the heat energy of waste gas at a waste gas boiler arranged in the exhaust gas system 3 of a diesel engine 1 and used for driving a steam turbine 6. A fuel gas compressor 13 is rotatingly driven at a set rotational frequency through a train of gears 14 and 15 with the rotation of the output shaft of the turbine 6 in order to pressurize fuel gas to supply to the diesel engine 1 up to a predetermined value. In addition, a dynamotor 12 is coupled to the output shaft of the turbine 6 in order to actuate the compressor by driving with the dynamotor 12 during the starting stage. The excess output produced during the running of the engine is taken out from the dynamotor 12 in the form of electric power. |
