PURPOSE:To require no exchange of a battery and to semipermanently hold information by incorporating a capacitor for backing up a memory and providing an external terminal for feeding to the capacitor at the time of using an IC card. CONSTITUTION:At the time of using the IC card 1, namely, when the IC card 1 is connected to an external device such as a computer, a voltage Vcc is supplied to the Vdd terminal of a memory IC 2 through a rectifier 4a such as a diode from the external terminal 3 and fed to the capacitor 5 for backing up the memory for backing up information stored in the volatile memory IC 2 through a charging rectifier 4b such as a diode. Thereby, it is not necessary to exchange the battery and the information stored in the volatile memory IC 2 can be semipermanently held. |
