PURPOSE:To hold the condition of the press contacting of a cleaning blade with an image supporting surface constant and to obtain invariably constant cleaning operation by holding the hardness of the cleaning blade invariably constant without reference to ambient temperature. CONSTITUTION:A clamping member 3a which holds the cleaning blade 3 in cooperation with a supporting member 5 is fitted to a temperature sensor 8, and a heater 7 is arranged at a proper place of the supporting member closely to a weight. A control circuit 9 operates a switch which turns on and off a heater circuit in response to the output of the sensor 8. Consequently, the cleaning blade 3 is held at constant temperature to hold the hardness of the blade constant, obtaining a specific residual-toner scraping function all the time. |
