[Also in Division F1] A harmonic drive comprises an input shaft 10 driving a cam 14, e.g. of ellipsoidal shape, having a ball bearing 16 for rotatably imparting the cam shape to a tubular flexspline 18 connected to an output shaft 12 and having peripheral teeth 20 engaging teeth 22 in easing 24. The drive is lubricated by grease discharged from a container 42 within flexspline 18 by the radially reciprocating action of a vane 44 rotatably mounted on an eccentric pin 45 on the input shaft 10. The vane 44 is held against rotation by the grease in container 42, and discharges the grease through one of a number of ports 48. |
