PURPOSE:To execute projection processing and classifying an inputted signal in series by introducing optically parallel processing to the projection processing and the correlative arithmetic processing of an inputted image. CONSTITUTION:After the inputted image is displayed on the display panel or the like, the multi-processing of the inputted image by a first multi-processor 4, the parallel projection operation for the multi-processed input image by a slit mask array 5 and a cylindrical lens array 6, the multi-processing of a dotted image group formed by the parallel projection operation by a second multi-processing means 10 and the parallel matching between the pattern of the multi- processed dotted image group with patterns of plural reference masks 11a are carried out in parallel at the light propagation speed. Furthermore, each light through plural kinds of reference mask 11a by parallel pattern matching is detected in parallel by a photo-detecting means 13a with high grade responsiveness.
