PURPOSE:To shorten the switching time by executing the switching operation by a single linear movement such as moving as one body a second connector ferrule and a third connector ferrule, and shortening the moving distance to the utmost. CONSTITUTION:A butted state of a first connector ferrule 4 and the second connector ferrule 5 is held, and while securing an optical transmission line, the restraint of both of them is released, and on the side part of the second connector ferrule 5, the third connector ferrule 28 is provided in parallel, and also, in a state that the end face has been made uniform. In this state, the second connector ferrule 5 is pushed out of a V-shaped groove 30 by moving the third connector ferrule 28, and simultaneously, the third connector ferrule 28 is fitted into the V-shaped groove 30, and also, butted to the first connector ferrule, an optical transmission line is formed between the first connector ferrule 4 and the third connector ferrule 28, and thereafter, by giving a restraint for positioning to both of them by a guide sleeve, the connection is executed. In such a way, the switching time can be shortened.
