PURPOSE:To improve the appearance quality by holding a cathode-ray tube at the center position of a mounting bed and moving and winding a tape on the panel side face. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing metal 3 is set on a lug support bed 24, a cathode- ray tube 1 is mounted, and a device is started. A holding means 25 is advanced and holds and fixes the cathode-ray tube 1 after centering it. A tape 2 delivered by a drive roller 28 is moved and wound along the panel side face of the cathode-ray tube 1 by a copying mechanism 29. After being wound, the tape 2 is cut by a cutter, and the means 25 is retreated. At the same time, the metal 3 is heated to the preset temperature by a heating burner 22. When the winding work of the tape 2 and the heating work of the metal 3 are completed, a lift bed is lowered, thereby the burner 22 and a bed 20 are lowered, and the cathode- ray tube 1 is inserted into the metal 3. Accordingly, the displacement of the cathode-ray tube 1 is eliminated, the relative displacement with the metal 3 is minimized, and the appearance quality can be improved.
