PURPOSE:To quickly and smoothly edit a document including the image information by selecting and displaying an optional one of plural image information stored in an external memory. CONSTITUTION:When the image stored in an external memory is needed for an document editing job, a specific command of a document processing menu bar 502. At the same time, a specific item is selected by a pull-down menu 503 which is displayed in response to the selection of said specific command. Thus an image processing menu bar is displayed in a menu bar display area in place of the menu bar 502. Then a property sheet is displayed for selection of images with selection of said command of the bar 502 and then the selection of the menu 503. When said property sheet is set, the desired image information is displayed on a work view. Thus it is possible to easily extract the stored image information needed for a relevant document and to edit it while the document is edited by a simple and quick operation.
