PURPOSE:To directly attain communication between terminal equipments under the control of polling system by adding a transmission right transfer command. CONSTITUTION:A terminal controller 1 and terminal equipments (A)2-terminal equipments (C)4 are connected to one set of bus transmission line 5. The terminal equipments 2-4 receiving a polling command return a transmission request in receiving the data transmission request, the terminal controller 1 issues a transmission right transfer command to the terminal equipments 2-4 and the terminal equipments 2-4 having the transmission right by the transmission right transfer command send directly a data command to the object terminal equipments 2-4. The transfer destination terminal equipments 2-4 concerned receive directly the command, send the response to the equipments 2-4 and the equipments 2-4 receiving the response restore to the terminal controller 1 by means of the transmission right return command to complete the data transfer. The terminal controller 1 issues a polling command to the next terminal equipment when the transmission right is restored.
