PURPOSE:To prevent recorded density from being varied due to differences in thermal effects and obtain a uniform recorded density, by detecting whether a dot in concern in each block is an end part dot, and setting applied energy for the dot in concern to be alpha times that for other dots when the dot in concern is an end part dot. CONSTITUTION:When a dot (a) in concern is a right end dot, a right end dot detection signal 13 becomes 'H', so that a selector 8 validates a right end dot correcting signal 10, and outputs an end part dot correction signal 11 of '01'. to an applied energy calculating means 15. The right end dot correcting signal 10 is constituted of image data (i), (j) which are outputted respectively from the 5-th stages of first and second shift registers 4, 5, and are original reference data on the end part dot. The calculating means 15 determines an optimum energy to be applied to the dot (a) in concern, based on peripheral pattern information 14 and the correction signal 11. Thus, the energy applied to the dot (a) in concern is set to be alpha times that applied as compared with the case when the dot (a) is not an end part dot. |
