PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of printing even on a thick paper, by containing all of a paper-feeding mechanism, a printing head and a platen into an auxiliary frame rotatably supported by a frame body of a main body, and enabling a paper to be externally supplied directly to a paper-supplying mechanism part. CONSTITUTION:In the case of printing on a postal card or the like, an auxiliary frame 12 is rotated with a pin 11 as a fulcrum so that a paper-supplying mechanism part comprising rollers 13, 14 can be externally accessed. Next, a guide plate 30 is turned leftward as indicated by an arrow so that a paper is smoothly fed between the rollers 13 and 14 by the guiding action of the guide plate 30. The guide surface of the guide plate 30 is set to conform to the direction to which the paper S is passed through a printing part, and feeding of the paper S is accordingly smoothened. A printing head 26 is made to perform a printing operation synchronously with the feeding of the paper, and predetermined printing is finished. Thus, the paper being used is not bent, and a thick paper can also be printed. |
