PURPOSE:To effectively impart energy for emitting a liquid droplet to ink and to rapidly replenish the ink, by bending a liquid passage on the upstream of an emitting energy generating means but not bending the same on the downstream side. CONSTITUTION:Liquid passages 13 are formed of the first liquid constituting body 2 and second liquid passage constituting body 3 arranged between a substrate 11 and a top plate 5 and bent in the direction of the top plate 5 on the upstream of heat generators 1. These liquid passages 13 are respectively arranged by the first liquid passage constituting body 2 without being especially bent so as to be isolated from each other so that the emitting orifices 12 respectively correspond to the heat generators 1 to each other on the downstream of the heat generators 1. The ink held in an ink sump 4 flows in the respective liquid passages 13 isolated by the second liquid passage constituting body 3 at first and subsequently flows in the liquid passages 13 isolated by the first liquid passage constituting body 2 having the heat generators 1 arranged thereto while mainly divided into two directions. The bent flow passages function as a barrier wall to inhibit the propagation of a pressure wave toward the direction opposite to the emitting direction of the ink and emitting energy is effectively utilized. |
