PURPOSE:To decide at high speed the similarity by the projection processing and the matching of the pattern of an inputted image by introducing optically parallel processing for the projection processing and the correlative arithmetic processing of the inputted image. CONSTITUTION:After the inputted image is displayed, multi-processing of the inputted image by a first multi-processing means 4, the projection processing to each directional axis by cylindrical lens array 6, the multi-processing of optical image which is a block of features of the projection by a second multi- processor 10 and the optical matching of the patterns of multi-processed optical image with the patterns of plural kinds of reference mark 11a are carried out in parallel at the light propagation velocity. The transmitted light through each reference masks 11a is detected in parallel by a photo-detector 12a with high speed response.
