<p>A cable gripping unit for forming a dead end connector and the like for cable which includes a body having a tapered bore terminating in cable accommodating openings with a gripping member within the bore. The outer surface of the gripping member is tapered and circular in cross section to conform to the taper of the bore and includes a plurality of jaw sections for gripping the cable maintained by a spring biased retainer. The body includes flanges with openings so configured to accommodate a swing away U-shaped bail.</p> |
