PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and to prevent an increase in fogging and degradation in sensitivity during preservation by combining specific spectral sensitizing dyes. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of the compd. expressed by the formula I and at least one kind of the compd. expressed by the formula II are incorporated into a titled emulsion. In the formulas I, II, R0, R1 are a hydrogen atom, alkoxy group, etc.; R2 is a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, etc.; R3 is an alkyl group of >=2C, aryl group, etc.; R4, R5 are an alkyl group; X1<-> is a paired anion; lis 0 or 1; Z3, Z4 are a nonmetallic atom group necessary for forming a naphthalene ring; R9, R11 are synonymous with R4, R5; R10 is synonymous with R2; X3<-> is synonymous with X1<->; and an is synonymous with l. The spectral sensitivity of a green short wavelength region is thereby enhanced and the preservable property is improved.
