PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of reading action to cause read error by reading the identification information of a record with setting a sector preceding a sector which executes repositioning as a starting point, and comparing it with the identification information of a desirable record. CONSTITUTION:The record identification information of the repositioning record where a field preceding a head field, to which a central processing unit 10 requests reaccessing belongs, and a sector position, and obtained. The record identification information is stored in a disk controller 11 and based on the sector position a rotation position sensing means 13 is actuated, then the record identification information of the repositioning record after the disk controller 11 detects an interruption signal from a disk device 12. And the read record identification information is compared with the record identification information stored in the disk controller 11 and in case of obtaining agreement between them, the positioning is regarded as a success and in case of obtaining disagreement between them the positioning is regarded as a failure to set it as an abnormal completion. Thus, the numbers of times of reading action causing the read error, can be reduced.
