PURPOSE:To enable a thin medium to smoothly run by urging a medium guide having a curved surface, confronting an image sensor, toward the image sensor, and by loosely fitting a medium press roller in the medium guide. CONSTITUTION:A medium guide mechanism 22 which may rotate around a pin 29 is arranged confronting an image sensor 21. A medium guide member 24 forms a curved surface facing the image sensor 21, and a medium press roller 26 is loosely fitted onto a support shaft 30 in the most projected part of the Curved surface, the roller 26 being projected in part from the curved surface. Further, the medium guide member 24 is urged toward the image sensor 21 by means of a spring 25. With this arrangement a medium 100 may run smoothly in the direction of the arrow even though it is thin.
