PURPOSE:To facilitate optimization of critical current density and also facilitate controlling of product performance by repeating composite processing for Ti sheath NbTi alloy rods whose each periphery is coated with a Ti sheet or Ti pipe so that a thin ribbon tape shape is obtained and making these rods exist in a NbTi matrix. CONSTITUTION:Ti sheath NbTi alloy rods whose each periphery is coated with a Ti sheet or Ti pipe, or these alloy rods and NbTi alloy rods without sheath, are assembled in plural numbers and engaged in the Cu group pipe so that a Cu/Ti/NbTi wire is formed by composite processing. Next, a plurality of Cu/Ti/NbTi wires are assembled and engaged in a Cu group pipe, and composite processing is performed and repeated in plural numbers. Namely, alpha-Ti necessary for improving critical current density is obtained not by a method of precipitation but by Ti coating at the time of composition which is on an initial stage of composite material formation. These Ti sheaths are disposed properly, for example, in ribbon shapes so that a thickness of Ti is several of nm and a distance between Ti ribbon tapes is in the degree of several tens of nm. Thus, these wires are designed so that critical current density is optimized and they are engaged with each other.
