PURPOSE:To recover magnetic powder without necessity of using a large quantity of expensive organic solvent by a process in an extremely short time by separating a coating magnetic material from a substrate with alkaline solution, and separating magnetic powder from the magnetic material with an oxidizer. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic recording medium is processed with alkaline solution to separate coating magnetic material from a substrate of a magnetic recording medium. When an ultrasonic vibration is applied by an ultrasonic wave generator thereto at this time, further preferable result is obtained. The vibration by the generator uses an oscillation frequency of 15-45kHz. Then, after coating a magnetic material is processed with an oxidizer, it is further processed with alkaline solution, an ultrasonic vibration is applied thereto to remove by dissolving binder in the magnetic material to separately recover the magnetic powder from the magnetic material. Thus, the magnetic powder can be recovered efficiently in a short time inexpensively. |
