The safety belt clamp incorporates a spring-loaded swivel locking member (33) with a first flat section (45) and a second flat section (53) at an obtuse angle to the first. The swivel axis of the locking member (33) runs through the first section (45) which has axial pins and a locking catch (51). The actuating button (34) abuts the top of the locking member in the second section (53) at a point remote from the swivel axis and is adapted to move up and down through an opening in the lid of the clasp housing. The underneath of the second section (55) is provided with projections (54) which when the actuating button is depressed and thus the locking member is swivelled into the release position pass into abutment with the insert tongue (23) so that the latter is released from the locking shoulders. |
