PURPOSE:To enable selective detection of carbohydrate alone distinguished from lipid, protein and the like, by bonding concanavalin A to a polyvinyl butyral film on the surface of a crystal resonator through a dialdehyde compound. CONSTITUTION:To form a polyvinyl butyral film on the surface of a crystal resonator, a dope liquid is prepared by dissolving polyvinyl butyral in an organic solvent such as methylene chloride and acetone at the concn. of about 0.05-20wt.%, preferably 1-10wt.%, dripped on to the surface of the crystal resonator, and with the application of a means for spin coating or others, the mixture alone is left in an atmosphere of room temperature-about 80 deg.C. Concanavalin A is bonded to a polyvinyl butyral film on the surface of the crystal resonator through a dialdehyde compound to form a sensor. This enables the bonding of various carbohydrates such as glucose and fruit sugar specifically to the sensor utilizing sugar bonding property of concanavalin A.
