PURPOSE:To obtain a cell-culture base having excellent adhesivity, distensibility and proliferativity of cell and enabling cell culture over a long period in high density, by depositing a polymeric material on a different kind of polymeric base. CONSTITUTION:A cell-culture base composed of a polymeric material such as olefinic polymer, polyester resin, etc., and preferably formed in the form of porous material, tube, hollow fiber, etc., is covered with a sputtered layer of a polymeric material different from the polymeric base, e.g. a synthetic polymer having opposite affinity to water (hydrophilic or hydrophobic nature) to said polymeric base or a polymeric material derived from living body, e.g. collagen, gelatin, etc.
