PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry out continuous separating treatment of mother taros smoothly and efficiently, by transporting harvested mother taros from a conveyor to separating chamber while advancing a car body and separating child taros from mother taros by rotation of a separating rope. CONSTITUTION:In a separating rope 3, rope 1 is hung along the direction of a revolving shaft 2 and separation of taros is carried out while rotating the rope. In a conveyor 5, the root parts of mother toros are sent to a separating chamber 4 while sandwiching the petiole part of the mother taros 28 and transporting along the shaft direction at one side of the separating chamber 4 with the built-in separating rope 3. In a taro separator 6 thus consisting of the separating rope 3 and the conveyor 5, the rotary shaft 2 and the conveyor 5 are set sideways at the left and right at the rear part of a car body 7 while laying the conveyor 5 at the rear position. Namely, child toros are separated from mother taros by rotation of the separating rope 3 while transporting the taros in the separating chamber 4 by the conveyor 5 so that continuous separating treatment can be smoothly and efficiently carried out.
