PURPOSE:To prevent the outflow of an electrolyte from a container by forming recessed grooves on the inside of a vent plug, installing a guide wall which hangs from the vent plug toward a container, and forming recessed grooves on the inside of the guide wall. CONSTITUTION:Four recessed grooves 3 are vertically formed on the inside of a vent plug 2. A plurality of vertical recessed grooves 5 are also formed on the inside of a guide wall 4. During charging of a battery, gas evolves inside a container 1 and a part of an electrolyte is splashed, but splashes are trapped by the guide wall 4 and rarely enter the vent plug 2. Splashes which adhere inside the guide wall 4 and on the lower side of the upper wall 1a of the container 1 grow and fall along the recessed grooves 5 since the surface tension is decreased by the recessed grooves 5 of the guide wall 4. The outflow of the electrolyte from the container is remarkably decreased. |
