PURPOSE:To automatically form a fold line of a sheet at a precise position by providing a pair of rollers among three rollers in opposite to a sheet conveying path to constitute a folding section so that a sheet is folded back into a dogleg-like shape at a position facing the folding section and thus folded sheet is inserted into between the rollers. CONSTITUTION:A sheet having passed through a sheet conveying path 10 is fed into a sheet fold-back path 13 by a conveying roller 11. Further, the leading end of a sheet abuts against a fold gate 14 so that the sheet is stopped. In this condition, if the feed-in operation by the conveying roller 11 is further continued, the sheet is bi-folded in a folding part 12, and thus formed folding fold line is introduced into a folding section in a folding roller device 20. Accordingly, the inlet port part of an intermediate fold-back path 24 is closed by a gate 26, and the sheet is conveyed through a discharge passage 30 by means of a discharge roller 31. Thus, the fold line may be automatically formed at a precise position in the sheet.
