PURPOSE:To keep a grinding surface of grinding projections constant all the time as well as to grind a taper surface accurately for finishing with these grinding projections, by distributively forming these plural grinding projections in an outer circumferential surface or an end face of a cylindrical base material at the specified interval along the circumference. CONSTITUTION:In an outer circumferential surface or an end face of a cylindrical base material 4 rotating on the axial center, there is distributively formed with one end side of grinding projections harder than this base material 4 at the specified intervals along the circumference. The other end side of these grinding projections 7 is extended in the inner part of the base material 4 in a state of being orthogonal with the outer circumferential surface, and a grinding surface form of these grinding projections 7 is always kept constant even if it is worn out by use, whereby a taper part 9 of a workpiece 1 is accurately ground by these grinding projections 7. When these grinding projections 7 are worn out and become unusable, the base material 4 is shaved with a stone stick, and these grinding projections 7 are reproduced and reused.
