PURPOSE:To accelerate scanning speed, by generating and outputting a picture signal by adding signals obtained by the n-number of adjacent picture elements by using an image sensor having the picture elements of n-times(n is a natural number) the number of picture data of one line, CONSTITUTION:The image sensor 29 is a one-dimensional CCD(charge coupled device) sensor of 1024 bits, and is provided with a photodiode 10, a transfer gate 11 for transferring an odd dot and a CCD13, a transfer gate 12 for transferring an even dot and a CCD14, and an output gate to which the output serial signals of the CCDs 13 and 14 are supplied and which outputs a picture data. Therefore, at an output gate 15, the signal of an odd picture element supplied from the CCD13 and the signal of an even picture element supplied from the CCD14 are added, then, a picture signal OS can be obtained, and is outputted from the first terminal of the image sensor 20. In such a way, it is possible to accelerate the scanning speed than ever.
