PURPOSE:To surely feed paper sheets from the paper sheet in the forefront end, by providing a guide member, which presses the paper sheets to a straightening bed, in the vicinity of the front end of the paper sheets straightened in an almost vertical condition on the paper sheet straightening bed. CONSTITUTION:Straightening paper sheets 7 almost in a vertical condition on a paper sheet straightening bed 1, a device, which presses the paper sheet from its rear end by a pressing plate 8, generates friction force between the paper sheets 7 in the forefront end and a feed roller 2. While the device provides a guide plate 4 which presses the front end part of the paper sheets 7 to the straightening bed 1. Further the device provides the pressing plate 8, which presses the paper sheets 7 from the upper when the paper sheets 7 are horizontally piled building a layer on a mounting bed 5, and a guide plate 6 warping the rear end of the mounting bed 5 to the upper by a predetermined angle. In this way, the paper sheets are surely fed sheet by sheet from the paper sheet in the forefront end.
