PURPOSE:To obtain the good image of the titled material having less residual color after processing without affecting an adverse effect to the photographic performance of a photographic emulsion by processing the titled material having a hydrophilic colloidal layer colored with a specific water soluble dye within <=70sec processing time of dry to dry. CONSTITUTION:The titled material having the hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. at least one kind of the dye shown by formula I, is developed and processed by an automatic developing machine including at least developing, fixing, washing (or stabilizing) and drying steps. The steps from the developing step of the drying step are finished within <=70sec. In formula I, R<1>-R<6> are each alkyl group, Z<1> and Z<2> are are each nonmetallic atom group necessary for forming a benzocondensed ring or a naphthocondensed ring, L is methine group, X is an anion. Thus, the titled material enables processing rapidly without affecting the adverse effect to the photographic performance of the photographic emulsion, and the residual color of the titled material after processing is reduced. |
