PURPOSE:To avoid abnormal wear of a belt member and damage, by providing a restricting member to be brought into contact with the peripheral surface of the belt member, which decreases its tension by the action of an emergency clutch mechanism expanding in a circular shape, so as to prevent the belt member from directly touching a peripheral equipment. CONSTITUTION:A V-belt 13 tends to expand in a circular shape by decreasing its tension due to action of an emergency clutch mechanism 37, and a restricting member 38, which is formed by a column-shaped pin coming into contact with the peripheral surface of the V-belt 13 and restricting its moving range, is provided being arranged between driving and driven pulleys 3, 7. And this restricting member 38, in a surface passing through the V-belt 13, is fixedly supported in parallel with input and output shafts 1, 2 outside a part, in which the V-belt 13 is not wound on both pulleys 3, 7, further outside a moving range of the V-belt 13 which moves during speed change by speed change ratio between the input and output shafts 1, 2. Accordingly, damage of a peripheral equipment and/or abnormal wear or the like in the peripheral surface of the V-belt 13 can be surely prevented.
