PURPOSE:To prevent the delay of response when a file fault occurs by providing a counting circuit to a file processor and changing the repeating frequency of the retrial processing in accordance with the constitution of a data processing system. CONSTITUTION:A control storage circuit 13 calculates the retrial frequencies practicable with file processors 1 and 2 based on the control data set by a counting circuit 18. These calculated retrial frequencies are registered to the circuit 18. When the circuit 13 detects the transfer abnormality or information abnormality via a fault detecting circuit 17 during the transfer of information, the retrial processing is started with reference to the circuit 18. The retrial executing frequency of the circuit 18 is increased at every retrial processing. Then the file processing operation is through when the file information is normally transferred by the retrial processing. When the file fault is not recovered even with the set retrial frequency the end report information showing the abnormality is produced and transferred to a data processor. Thus the data processor changes the route and transfers the information again.
